ALTERNATIVE ALLEY: “All-Star”
In our next live stream, Michael Violette of String Sound Studios returns to the “Alternative Alley” with a lesson on “All-Star” by Smashmouth. He’ll cover concepts like tuning your guitar a 1/2 step down, triads on strings 3-2-1, staccato notes, bassline riffs, 8th- and 16th-note rhythms, and using effects including how to play clean to distorted. As always, Michael has prepared a fun and comprehensive lesson, complete with a play-along backing track, as well as many tips, tricks, and insights on playing Alternative Rock guitar.
