Pianist Daniel Corneliussen moved to Long Island from his home in
Virginia in 2007 in order to focus on Early Music performance and to
study with Professor Arthur Haas. He is a student at the State
University of New York at Stony Brook and is a candidate to receive a
Doctor of Musical Arts degree there in May 2012. A few of Daniel's
previous performances include concerts and public masterclasses at the
Amherst Early Music Festival (2007, 2008, 2009) and the Boston Early
Music Festival (2007 and 2009)—and at the Boston festival this past
June, Daniel participated as a soloist in a concert of music by Henry
Purcell.
Besides performing, Daniel is interested in a career as a
music teacher. He served as an artist faculty member for the
Performing Arts Institute of Virginia in Blacksburg in 2006 and 2007,
and is pursuing his piano teaching career now on Long Island. Before
leaving Virginia, Daniel studied piano with Professor Mary Louise
Hallauer at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in
Blacksburg (receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in piano performance
in December 2005), and before that with Mrs. Teresa Falk in Yorktown
during his high school years. Daniel is also a church musician and
has served as organist at Fairlawn Presbyterian Church in Radford,
Virginia and at Old South Haven Presbyterian Church in Brookhaven, New
York.

Vince Lewis Quartet A Different Standard This exciting new release is comprised of some of the best music ever
written. Vince has drawn from the classic hymns and placed them into a
contemporary jazz setting. Along with Tom Hildreth (bass) and Phil Riddle
(drums) the group has added Phil Thompson on woodwinds. Sure to satisfy
fans of the Vince Lewis Trio's previous music, this work will also expose
his audience to reverential treatments of meaningful and timeless Christian
favorites.
This collection is sure to bring back memories of singing these wonderful
hymns in church. Selections include, "Precious Lord Take My Hand," "In The
Garden" and "Worthy of Worship." Each tune is a celebration of the
original intent of the composer presented in mainstream jazz styles.
