Steve has over 35 years of experience playing, teaching, and performing. He is the author of several guitar music books including Johnny Smith Guitar Solos (published by Hal Leonard), Jimmy Raney Guitar Solos, Wes Montgomery Guitar Solos, The Beatles Arranged for Classical Guitar, Select Standards for Solo Guitar, Select Standards for the Guitar in a Trio, and The Playbook for Blues Guitar.
Steve has studied with Bob Levine, Howard Morgen, Jerry Willard, John Zaccari, Carl Barry, Billy Bauer, Paul Bollenback, and Tim Siciliano. His former students include Steve Vai, Wayne Avers (who toured with The Monkees), and Rob Liefer (who appeared on American Idol).
Steve has played with many New York-based groups including Steven Scott Orchestras, The Bill Harrington Orchestra, The Bob Hardwick Sound, Dwight Howard Orchestras, Hank Lane Music, Music Unlimited. He also has plenty of experience playing at numerous clubs, bars and restaurants either as a solo artist, or with others, including four-piece rock bands.
Steve provides classical guitar, jazz guitar, and blues guitar lessons in Bethpage. He also gives private guitar instruction in other areas within the Huntington, Oyster Bay, and North Hempstead Townships.
