Since 1986, String Sound Studios has been providing in-home music lessons across Long Island. The core of our business is quality music education, and providing that education in our students’ homes. We have developed a strong partnership between our clients and teachers by bringing well-educated music professionals to communities all over Long Island and New York City.
We work closely with our qualified teachers to help them provide students of all ages and ability levels with affordable, personalized instruction. Our instructors can prepare their students for NYSSMA; for All-State, All-County, NMEA, SCMEA, and LISFA festivals; and even for Tri-M events, recitals, concerts, auditions, and college preparation. Our focus on music instruction has allowed us to produce students of a very high caliber. (You can check out our YouTube page for videos from our recitals if you’re curious about our results!)
We also provide a fun, rigorous group-playing environment with our Novice and Advanced Band programs. Owner Michael arranges and composes all different types of songs for our bands, including Rock, Blues, Pop, Jazz, Latin, and Classical styles, and covering artists such as Bruno Mars and BB King.
Whether you’re just starting out or have been playing for years, String Sound Studios most likely has an instructor for you. We look forward to helping you begin your musical journey. Give us a call at 631-476-8946 and sign up for lessons today!
String Sound Studios was born in 1986, with owner Michael Violette at the helm since Day One. Michael noticed a need for a reliable, convenient, affordable way to bring music lessons to people’s homes, so he set out to help clients avoid the travel and scheduling arrangements to local stores that seemed more interested in selling and renting products than focusing on music education.
Michael’s decision to become a mobile music educator allowed him to quickly build a solid reputation as a well-schooled, reliable, customer service-oriented person. When he began, most private music teachers were renting studios or working in stores and paying a high fee for rental space. Because of noise from adjoining studios or rooms, he found the store or multiple studio space was not the best learning or instructional environment.
Over time, he realized many other musicians had limited access to studio space and lacked the expertise of running a business. At this point, he started to hire high quality music professionals on all instruments to fulfill the customers’ needs. Since that time, String Sound Studios has grown to include over 40 instructors across Long Island and NYC, and has helped further the musical careers of thousands of students.
